All About the Pageant!

I became interested in the Solano County Pageant through friends from cheer and school. I looked up to them, I knew it was such an honor to hold a title for this beautiful city. Considering this was my very first pageant, and I had missed the first few practices.. I was nervous to walk into my first pageant practice at the Danc-Sing Stars studio. There were so many beautiful and down-to-earth young ladies and women! Not only did I learn pageant techniques, I made so many new friends.

So much hard work and time was put into this pageant, and pageants all around the country. There is a lot of behind the scenes work that many of the audience will never get to see! Before the pageant starts, all of the contestants have a morning judges interview. Individually, you are interviewed by 5 of the judges. The judges ask you questions off of your personal bio, and any of their own questions they can think of. The judges score you on your poise, intelligence, posture, confidence, personality, looks, outfit, and how well-spoken you are. Once the pageant begins, the contestants all perform the "Opening Number" dance, and introduce themselves to the audience. Next is the "Personal Style" portion of the pageant; each contestant models a dress of their choice, this outfit should reflect your personality and flare. After this, is the "Evening Gown" competition. Contestants model a floor-length evening gown of their choice. This shows off the contestants elegance and grace. Lastly, there is an "On-Stage Question" that is asked to each contestant. The MC of the pageant asks each contestant a question, and each girl is being judged on their confidence and intelligence about the issue.

The pageant was so fun, and such a good learning experience. When they announced "contestant number 3" as Miss Teen Vacaville, I was filled with joy! Winning this title means so much to me, and I promise to be a great role model and leader of this city. It is not all about the beautiful crown and pretty face. It is about being a good influence, helping out in your community, and setting an example for our youth. I couldn't have done it without my parents, my awesome pageant directors, and my friends. I feel so blessed! I can't wait to continue my pageant career! Xoxo
